Green waste is the cheapest bin we do, for one reason. A clean load goes straight to composting with no sorting.
Keep it to garden material only and you get the lower rate. Throw one bag of household rubbish in and the whole load is reclassified as mixed waste at the higher price, so it genuinely pays to keep it clean.

Common questions
Why is green waste cheaper?
A clean load composts with no sorting, so the tip fee is lower and we pass that on.
Can I put soil in?
Yes, but soil is heavy. A smaller bin usually hits the weight limit before it looks full.
What if I accidentally put rubbish in?
One or two items we can pull out. A properly mixed load gets charged at the mixed waste rate.
